A candle warmer lamp melts your jar candle from above, so the room fills with its scent without lighting the wick. Here's why people make the switch.

5 reasons people are switching
-
No open flame, no soot
The lamp's warm light melts the wax from the top. There's no flame to watch and no black soot on the jar or the wall.
-
It turns itself off
Every lamp here has a timer. Most let you pick 2, 4 or 8 hours, so you can unwind and stop thinking about it.
-
Use the candles you already own
No special wax or refills. Set your favorite jar under the shade. Most list the jar height they fit on their page.
-
Set how strong the scent is
Brighter means a faster melt and more fragrance. Dim it down for a softer scent and a calmer light.
-
It's a lamp, too
Most are wood, metal and glass, with a warm glow for the evening on a nightstand or shelf.
Warmer lamp vs. lighting the candle
Same candle, same scent. Here's what changes.
| Candle warmer lamp | Lit candle | |
|---|---|---|
| Open flame | None | Yes |
| Soot on the jar and walls | None | Common with a lit wick |
| Your candle's wick | Stays unburned | Burns down every use |
| Switches itself off | Yes, every model here has a timer | No |

Will my candle fit?
Most lamps list the jar height they fit on their own page, typically up to about 5.5–6 inches. The Timer & Dimmer lamp's base also takes multi-wick jars. Check your candle's height before you order.
Does it get hot?
Yes. The bulb and shade (or the warming plate on the Moonlight lamp) get hot while it's on. Set it on a stable, heat-safe surface, away from anything that can burn and out of reach of children and pets, and let it cool before you touch the shade.
